The teachers at Tawa Montessori are our most important asset. They are registered early childhood teachers with Montessori training. Each one of them brings their own individual knowledge, skills and attitudes to the pre-school. They are committed and passionate and take time to give the children personal attention and guidance. They plan a programme to meet every child's individual needs. They guide the child who finds something difficult and they challenge the child who finds something too easy.
The teachers cultivate in the children the ability to choose freely, to sustain focused and concentrated attention, to think constructively, and to express themselves through language and the arts. They have many roles and responsibilities. They are the knower of the child, the preparer of the environment, the presenter of the lessons, the respecter and protector of the child's learning experiences and the rolemodel in the classroom.
